Hiring The Renowned Catering Company for a Wedding Party

Many have heard the horror stories of hiring a caterer that is less than worthy of their hard earned money. Read on to find out what can be avoided by picking a well-known, trusted company.
Food served all wrong- It's simple to pick the foods that everyone loves, and the tasting with a lesser known catering company may go well. However, when it comes to how the food is served that's when things go awry. Many caterers are great chefs, but when serving a larger group, they fall short. Things like warm desserts that should be cold, or hot soups and foods that are no longer even warm are common.
Be sure the caterer is keeping the food cool or warm the right way so that when it's served to guests it is perfect. In addition, be sure the menu chosen works well at the venue. An experienced food company will know this!
Having enough food - It's nothing short of embarrassing when the caterer runs out of food. Hungry guests are giving the planners the evil eye. Choosing the right amount of food depends on the number of guests, but so much more. It also is dependent on the event duration, type of food, type of event and the time of day. This is a lot to consider, but the right event caterer will have it under control.
Sick guests - This is even worse than the above issues. A professional caterer is trained to properly cook, transport, store and serve food in a safe and clean way. They should have a fleet of refrigerator trucks, warming units or coolers that are insulated to accommodate the event.
Rude workers - No matter the type of guests, the caterer, servers and anyone representing them should be extremely professional. They should be skilled at knowing the audience and making any adjustments necessary to keep them happy.
Late serving- A professional caterer will discuss the time for serving and stick to it. Further they should offer suggestions if the time seems off to them. Further, they'll know what works with when the event is taking place. If a light snack should come before the main course, if bread should be served ahead with salads, or if it should be self-service.
Not offering a menu choice - With so many guests that have nut allergies, who are vegetarians, who are dieting and so many more preferences not offering a choice of what's served will result in some very unhappy guests. The expert caterer will work with whatever limitations as long as they are relayed to the team ahead of time.
Some things to consider are as follows:
Planned budget
· What is the type and date of event?
· Venue - where is it? (make sure it's secured first)
· How many attendees or guests will be there?
· What are the potential allergies and diet requests?
· Type of meal desired - plated, buffet, stations
· What time the guests will arrive and when will they be served?
· Will there be drinks? What type?
· How long will the guests have to eat?
· What type of china, glasses, silverware will be used? Will the caterer give it?
Once all this is taken into account and discussed with the caterer, one can expect a successful event as long as they are working with one that is popular and carries great reviews.

Why You Should Try Thailand Food

When it comes to spotting the most nutritious delicacies in the world, Thai food holds a special place. If you among those who are still wondering what the food got to offer especially with all its assorted embellishment, then you should probably give it a try.
Apart from the numerous health benefits associated with the ingredients used in the preparation of food, the manner and method of making and serving the dishes make it unique. The inclusion of vegetables, spices and herbs in its preparation come with even more benefits. Below are some of the reasons why you need to try Thai food.
Sweet flavor
If you have never tasted any Thai food then you are missing so much; at least I can even say that you are yet to taste one of the most delicious dishes in the world. This is because, the way Thai dishes are made. It is still a wonder how these dishes taste the way they do, perhaps one can attribute it to the unique harmony of flavor. Various Thai meals allow you to savor the variety of taste and flavor - from noodle dishes, rice platters, curries to soup, salad and spring rolls. In fact, the list seems endless.
The use of nutritious ingredients
Unlike many exotic foods, Thai cooking uses some of the best natural ingredients. Although most people are of the opinion that these ingredients are either expensive or not readily available especially when one needs to prepare it at home. However, this conception is not entirely true; one just needs to look at the right places. Grocery stores are some of the best places to get Thai food at very affordable prices.
The chance to eat as a family
One of the unique features of meals served in Thai restaurants is the opportunity to eat in a family style by eating from several dishes that contain all the flavors. This also reduces the portion size preventing you from eating more than necessary. Apart from this, it's a nice opportunity for your entire family to eat together thus making it more enjoyable and fun. Usually, you and your table mates would be given an empty plate with which you will scope small portions of the dishes ordered at your table.
Healthy benefits
Thai menus usually come with the variety of healthy options. The use of several natural ingredients such as vegetables, spices and fruits makes all the meals a perfect combination. For instance, a Thai salad is a blend of sweet fruits (e.g. papaya and mango), species, and lime. The soup also comes with great options. Almost all Thai dishes are laden with healthy benefits for the body.
Unlike foods that are microwaved or boiled which normally lose their nutrients within a short while, contain dishes that are fried or steamed making them retain all their health benefits and goodness. Even though good Thai food may look asserted, it will always represent one of the few dishes that contain the "perfect" ingredients that can impact on your overall well-being health wise. Make sure to try varieties to get the most from the flavor, color and aroma.

Tupelo Honey: The Champagne of Honey

Tupelo Honey is considered the "champagne" of honey and is one of the most sought after varieties of honey in the world. Due to its superior taste, the demand for this honey far outpaces its limited supply. Tupelo honey has a unique sophisticated taste with buttery undertones, floral notes, and a hint of vanilla. Some people describe it as being more mellow tasting than most honey and almost everyone agrees that it is not as sweet as most other honey.
Just like the quality of wine depends in large part on the grapes used, the quality of honey depends in large part on the source of nectar the bees use to create it. Tupelo Honey is made from the nectar of the sunburst blossoms on White Tupelo Trees (Nyssa ogeche) that grow in the swamplands of southern Georgia and the Florida panhandle. These trees are primarily found along the banks of four large rivers and wetlands: Apalachicola, Chipola, Choctahatchee, and Ochlocknee.
White tupelo trees bloom in late April to early May for two to four weeks. Many beekeepers truck in their bees to feed on the Nyssa ogeche blossoms. However, the more dedicated beekeepers prefer to take their bees deeper into the region using river barges. In this way, they can more precisely control that their bees are feeding one hundred percent on White Tupelo Tree blossoms exclusively. Any mixing of other nectars can diminish the quality of taste.
Before they release the bees, beekeepers clean their trays to ensure that Tupelo Honey is not mixed with honey created from other types of flowers. They also watch the trees closely and don't release their bees until they see the White Tupelo Trees in bloom. At the end of the season, they are careful to remove their bees from the region as the last blossoms fall from the trees. During the two to four week stretch, the labor involved for both the bee keepers and the bees is intense, with bee keepers often working around the clock to collect and package the Tupelo Honey.
Tupelo Honey is a southeastern delicacy that is so prized, it is sold in the most exclusive gourmet food shops in the New York City. However, the best place to get this "liquid gold" is from one of the local mom and pop stores in the region as this is where you will find this honey the freshest. Gourmet food connoisseurs have been known to travel great distances to do just this!

Costly Mistakes When Hiring Catering Companies

Hiring catering companies is important in making events better since these companies provide delicious meals and refreshing drinks during your event. Unfortunately, event planners sometimes make mistakes in choosing such companies. To avoid this, it is best to know the mistakes event planners make. Below are some of the following.
Not considering your budget
One of the most common mistakes event planners may experience when hiring catering companies is not considering their budget. When organizing an event, you need to spend a lot of money to match your needs.
However, make sure that you only invest in essential items you need in the event. For instance, when hiring catering companies, you need to make sure that you only opt for the right menu to avoid overhead expenses. This is important since improving events mean spending more money. So, before making decisions, you need to budget your finances properly.
Working with the wrong type of caterer
The next mistake event planners make when hiring a catering company is opting for the wrong type of caterers. Most of the time individuals think all caterers are the same. Of course, caterers provide the best catering services. Sadly, not all caterers can accommodate your event. Because of this, there are cases when they provide insufficient services during an event. Apart from that, some catering services may even offer a cheap menu for your event which can certainly affect your event and business reputation.
Hiring companies with insufficient catering equipment
Another mistake event planners make when hiring catering companies is working with companies with insufficient catering equipment. There are instances when there are numerous guests who will be going to your event unexpectedly. Because of this, catering companies cannot provide meals and drinks to all your guests due to lack of catering equipment. As a result, guests or even potential clients will leave your event since they are not assisted properly. To compensate for this issue, event planners require renting out catering equipment from other companies which can be a huge expenditure.
Opting for catering services that are not important
In contrast to insufficient catering equipment, opting for catering services that are not important can also be a huge financial problem. For instance, when organizing an event in a hotel, event planners do not need to rent out catering equipment since hotels can provide necessary items for your event. Thus, you will be spending for a service you will not use.
By knowing all these, event planners can cut down their expenses which can help them have the budget for other services to make their event better and more successful. Click here for more.

Organic Raw Honey Vs Regular Honey

Whether you are the health enthusiast who only buys natural, organic products, or are simply looking for healthier alternatives for sugar, one of the many questions you may have is: "what is the different between organic raw honey and honey?" Of course organic raw honey is pricier, but the higher price does come with a number of benefits which honey does not contain. So, is it really worth investing in organic, or "real" honey? In short, the answer is yes, and these are a few of the benefits.
Honey
Honey which isn't "raw," organic honey, isn't nearly as healthy as the organic variety. Traditional honey products which aren't labeled as organic contain little to no pollen (which is used for weight control, anti-aging, beauty, healing, etc). In China it may also contain antibiotics, and the main ingredient in these products is high fructose syrup. These sugars have often been linked to obesity or being overweight due to high levels of unnatural sugars, they can lead to plaque build up in the arteries, and are also attributed to narrowing of the blood vessels in the body over time as well.
Organic Honey
Organic raw honey does not remove any of the pollen during the production process, or use any chemicals in the hives. The bees gather from organic plants which the area must be certified organic to be labeled so. This means you keep those anti-aging, inflammatory, weight loss, and natural properties which aren't found in the other graded varieties. In addition to this, all vitamins, nutrients, and enzymes are intact in these organic products. They also contain anti-fungal and viral properties, contain the powerful antioxidants which the body needs, and can help with several health benefits (including allergy reduction, natural skin healing, wound healing, etc).
The organic varieties are also linked in studies which individuals that consume the honey have reduced blood pressure levels, and reduced levels of cholesterol when used as a part of a healthy diet. Further, it helps naturally boost immune functions, helps with digestion, and works to naturally increase serotonin levels in the system, which give the body that "good" feeling or vibe.
Although you might think honey is a better alternative to sugar based or artificial sweeteners, it is important to note that not all honey products are created equally. If you are considering lower priced alternatives, skip them. Although you will pay a little more, it is well worth the investment, and health benefits you are going to attain, when you choose the organic raw honey variety, over the other products on the market.

New Australian Food Labels And How To Read Them

You may have heard about the new food labels being introduced by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) around Australia in July 2016. But like us, all you've heard so far is that the food labels are changing. So, we thought we'd delve a little deeper for you to find out exactly what's going on.
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN LABELLING
Being such huge supporters of Australian made, we welcome the move for labelling to identify the country of origin of the product. However, not all our food can be grown in Australia for various reasons (climate for example) so these labels will help guide you to make better decisions.
It's important to know where your products have originated from for a number of reasons:
How far has this product had to travel in order to reach you?
Is the purchase of these products having a negative impact on the country of origin because of international demand for this product?
Can you get this product closer to home - can you substitute it for something local and in season?
Read more in this article on food miles.
So, we already have country of origin information on our food labels, right? Yes. But the problem with this is businesses who are just packaging their products in Australia from food sourced overseas have been claiming that it is Australian made - which may be causing confusion for some consumers.
There are five new labels in total. The following three are identified with a kangaroo symbol:
GROWN IN AUSTRALIA - You're good to go with this option as this label means your food is 100% grown in Australia.
PRODUCT OF AUSTRALIA - Think canned or bagged goods where the ingredients are 100% Australian and they've been processed here too. This means, you're supporting Australian farmers andAustralian manufacturing. Win, win.
MADE IN AUSTRALIA - Most of the processing has been completed here in Australia and the ingredients must contain a significant portion of Australian grown food. The best thing about this label is it shows what percentage of ingredients are Australian. This means that businesses that are just repackaging their products in Australia cannot claim that their product is Australian made.
There are two more labels that contain information about the ingredients of the product and where they come from. These will usually be direct imports or are repackaged in Australia from imported foods:
PACKED IN AUSTRALIA - Shows a simple bar chart along with the percentage of Australian ingredients contained within.
PRODUCT OF 'COUNTRY' - This label will have a plain sticker stating which country the product comes from. This is for goods that are produced, made, grown or packed outside of Australia.
The new labels will allow us to make informed decisions, giving a voice to your purchase. Don't underestimate your buying voice! The choices you make are like a vote - the more you purchase locally made, organic and hand made, the more companies will produce products like this to meet demand.
Companies have two years from the 1st of July 2016 to start changing their labels over. This allows time to move through current stock. As a purchaser, we encourage you to get behind the new system and use your vote for Australian made.
